Claudia is a wonderful cook & I encourage everyone to come to the meeting & hear about & taste some new GF creations Claudia will be discussing ways to introduce other grains into our bread making. She will demonstrate making flour tortillas and her recipes for sesame oatmeal rolls, bagels and oatmeal bread using ground oatmeal. Also, she will discuss alternatives for those who are sensitive to gluten-free oatmeal. LONE STAR DINING CLUB It is time for another group dinner. Thanks to Megan Micheli of North Texas GIG, we have a new restaurant to try. Megan has worked with Asian Mint to create GF items from their menu that we can eat. I don't know about you but I am trying restaurants with our group that I would not have normally frequented. It is exciting to expand my choices and I love that we are getting to know one another better. The reviews that I have read about Asian Mint all rate it as five-star quality but reasonably priced. I do hope you can join us this time. The restaurant is quite small and I have only made a reservation for 12 so it is important that you notify me if you will be coming and how many in your party. Some restaurants can add tables at the last moment but in a small restaurant that is always packed, I do not believe they will be able to do that. Likewise, please call me if you need to cancel at the last moment, last event we asked them to remove a table due to no-shows. I'm hungry already and I don't believe there are any calories in Asian food is there?
You can follow the link below to their website or if you don't have computer access, the map indicates they at: 11617 North Central Expressway, Suite 135 Dallas, TX 75243 214-363-6655
From Dallas you would go North on Central Expy. to Forest Lane, take u-turn under Central and the shopping center on the right.
From Plano, take the Forest Lane exit, stay on service road, cross over Forest and turn into the shopping center. In other words it is on the Southwest corner of Forest and Central. http://www.asianmint.com/

Attached is the list that Market Street has put together that lists their gluten free products and where they're found in the store. The Food for Life frozen GF breads are not the best offering in the frozen bread department, in my opinion. They do carry Gillian's frozen gluten free rolls, which are quite good though. Let United Stores, who owns Market Street, in Lubbock, TX know that we would like to see more pre-prepared frozen GF breads and other gluten free products in their store. Only by asking, can we expect for them to carry more products for us. Contact them at http://www.unitedtexas.com.
